I don’t know about you, but I have become increasingly curious about the medical benefits of cannabis. I suffer from a lot of joint and muscle pain due to an auto-immune disease, so I am always looking for new ways to alleviate stress and pain.
So when my cousins recently visited me in Denver, where recreational marijuana is legalized, we decided to put this massage to the test!
We headed out to LoDo Massage Studio in Highland, an up and coming area just outside of the city. We each signed up for the “Mile High Massage”, which incorporates a cannabis based creme. I know, you’re first question is – Did you get high? Well, that was my first question to my massage therapist, Sarah W.
She explained that the combined effect in Appothecanna Pain Relieving Cream – cannabis, juniper, arnica and peppermint – relieves pain and stiffness in the muscles, allowing for a deeper massage with less pain. It does not absorb into your bloodstream, so you will not feel any other effects. So I put it to the test.
Here is what I discovered. I normally cannot withstand a deep tissue massage, but guess what? This time, my muscles felt almost numb. I slipped into a comforting euphoria of blissful relaxation while Sarah went to town on my aching body.
The result? All three of us felt like it was an extremely satisfying experience overall. I would definitely do it again. A week later, and my back still feels loosey-goosey!
Your next question? Where can I get some of that? Well, you can buy the CBD version of the cream online. That means, it only has the non-THC benefits of the cannabis. If you want to buy the THC Pain Cream – You’ll have to make a visit to a legal dispensary.
More questions? Leave a comment for me and I’ll let you know!
P.S. I’m not sure if this had anything to do with the massage, but I was ravenously hungry post-treatment!! (Wink, wink!)
