What the Buzz is About – Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Picks

Ever wonder what the experts in the industry keep going back to the drugstore for?  Some key products that are always in my makeup kit?  Here is an insider look at products under $10 that are MUST for you to try!

1.  Loreal Voluminous Mascara Carbon Black ($5.84 walmart.com)

This mascara does it all!  Lengthens, thickens AND curls.  Most brand name mascaras run about $30, and this is the only one that I have found that works just as well.  Being the mascara junkie that I am, this is one that I can afford to buy in bulk – and I do!

2.  Neutragena Waterproof Makeup Remover ($5.82 walmart.com)

I can’t tell you how many of my clients I have turned on to this magical product.  This stuff really works.  Waterproof mascara, individual lashes, long-lasting lipstick?  You betcha.  I would also recommend Neutragena Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($6.27 walmart, com) for removing your foundation, and any other traces of makeup left on your skin.

3.  Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Peach Kiss ($3.99 walgreens.com)

This is the perfect everyday lip color with just the right amount of tint.  A great added bonus with this?  SPF 20 screen.  I use this on outdoor shoots when my client is going for a more natural look, and always keep in my makeup bag because I am addicted to it!

4.  Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs ($4.97 walgreens.com)

Every bronzer I have tried in the past tends to leave some type of residue.  The worst is seeing someone sit down on a white chair with their tanned legs, only to get up and see stains on the fabric.  Ugh.  This is the only one I have tried that is truly non-transferable and lasts for hours.  I even use it on my brides! – The true test.

5.  Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Gel Liner  ($7.94 walmart.com)

This amazing liner glides on easily, sets quickly and lasts for up to 24 hours.  I compare this to the Smashbox Jet Set gel liner that costs $22.  No thanks, this works just as well.  This is my go to for creating the perfect winged liner effect!
